The Heart Of It All Should Be Your Heart After All.

The heart of it all, should be your heart after all
The center of your life, should be you- yourself
build relations that see you for the real you
do things you absolutely love to do
Breathe in the breath of the greenery
be everything you've wished to be
ignite the fire that drives your desires
and grab those rare opportunities
don't waste your lungs singing cowardly songs
that break free from the smoke of a pipe
come out, swim up, from liquid toxic in a bottle
Honestly, it's all a wanna-be's hype
Fill your brains instead of your veins
it'll show better on your resumé
You'll thank me, you'll see, when you're the interviewee
and he tell's you, "you can start today"
You're young and vivacious
then why chose to waste away
whatever may be the reason you fall
Tomorrows always going to be a new day
Live for the sound of your heartbeat
and not to reach it's sudden stop
let the rhythm guide your steps, no matter big or small.
The heart of it all, should be your heart after all.

Literary Lies

She won't talk, she won't rant,
She won't fight, you have to understand.
She's a woman of words, queen of the quil
the ink on her parchment speaks strongly of her will
none of her words will mean what you think
they herald a message, disguised and hidden under the ink
She laces her words with beauty and charm
when underneath them lies her ugliness and qualms
She'll tell you a story of lovers devoted
and beneath it will lie a broken tale
one, if you knew, would sound sad and stale
her fingers have grown accustomed to vent out in verse
her honest emotions lay hidden behind her well- decorated words
Her heart has become so habituated to this method so strange
that now she can't express truly, her feelings will never be explained
they hide behind that thick red wall, that hits hard against her ribs
peeking out now and then, disguised by her beautiful fibs
as she writes her newest rhyme today, she can't help but wonder
whether she'll ever let them hear her heart's own scary thunder
whether she will, in any of her works, reveal
the truest reason for her love for happy endings, this silly zeal.
This obsession with lacing her words, to many, seem quite absurd
but it's her only way, to properly convey,
the things her heart has never heard.

A Rant of The Heart

She's owns the strongest heart I know
Stronger than anyone could posses
She's respectable and demands it
and she deserves nothing less
She's seen pain in most hurtful ways
but never lets it show at day
She has her flaws and she comes from a species called 'Human'
it's a shame I have to remind you, you come from the very same one too.
Just like you, she has emotions,
and it hurts her too much to think
that someone dear could turn against her
within the period of an eye's blink
She's never done you wrong
always meant you good
why then do you suddenly spite her
why is she easily misunderstood
She'll fight it, of that I'm sure
She's committed and works like a pro
what she doesn't need is your negativity
She's trying her best to stay ashore.
Before you go around talking
take a moment to yourself and think
Is it really her fault or wrong-doing?
or a symptom of an ego that keeps growing?
Why I stand for her you ask?
She's the kind of relation that lasts.
Would you give that up so easily then?
cause apparently, you don't mind losing a friend.

That Table Could Tell

Wooden and antique, sturdy and strong
He stood between two, has done so for too long
this table that's seen too many young lovers
has heard every romantic line, and spontaneous song
he watches as the new pair comes along
doomed or lucky, he's still to predict
what had Fate chosen for these two, were they his lucky pick
He's always been a silent witness to those shy gazes and sweaty palms
he knows of their nervous looks, jitters and qualms
He's heard too many young men speak their heart
he's heard those 'I love you's and 'till death do us part'
he's see the young women being swept up by charm
he's watched them leave arm in arm
He smiles at their retreating selves
knows he'll see them again soon
problem being, he isn't sure if that's a curse or a boon
He knows, he's seen it all too many times
they keep coming back with new reason and rhymes
they make it their spot, their table of choice
they share intimate affectionate words, all in a hushed voice
and he watches closely, knows exactly the moment when
a little suspicion, causes the trip to the end
and the journey is slow, torturous and slow
every new date, they keep needing more
more assurances, more words to explain
why they feel so much spite and disdain
until one day, hushed voices seem to ring in their ears.
a sudden need to hurt and bring tears
Their own voices are loud in their head
speaking the words that remain unsaid
they don't reach across him anymore
to hold hands, or more about the other, to know
Wooden and antique, sturdy and strong
He stood between two, has done so for too long
this table that's seen too many young lovers
has heard every romantic line, and spontaneous song
he watches as the new pair comes along
doomed or lucky, he's still to predict
what had Fate chosen for these two, were they his lucky pick.

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Writer Scorned

She holds in her hand a device so superior
no other has had this power so strong
and the cacophony of voices that invade her mind
force her to use this power to unwind
As she holds it in her hand and let's the words flow
black ink leaks out to fill in the blankness, the emptiness
of a paper and a soul, that with this power she can make whole.
Even while letting out, she's actually taking in
all of the words, that often stay trapped within
the blotches on the white, are sometimes just black
other times, its a fallen drop from a eye
they seep through the white and ruin her tale
yet they tell enough of a story, of a woman meek and frail
she scratches the blotches out,
not wanting to show the world this pain
the story she wants the world to know
is not about her losses, but the lessons she's gained
the ink dances under her power, following her every command
a woman who's been scorned, is allowed to voice a reprimand
that powerful, thin little feather, that still holds enough ink at it's tip
is kept aside while she reads her tale, nervously biting her lip
she smiles a smile that no one will understand
and then she folds up the parchment in her hand.
She holds in her hand a device so superior
no other has had this power so strong
Addictive is this power to write away her anguish
to write against the men who'd done her wrong.

The Task That She Is

He scratches and claws but she won't let him in
too afraid to let him under her skin
It scares her how he wants her
how he'll do anything to win
her heart, in all it's unworthiness,
it's fragile state within
But he won't give up,
she can see it in his eyes
this is no ordinary conquest,
and she's worth more than any prize
it's scares her more than it does surprise
that a man like him would want her so bad
men like him walk away more than stay
and she has learned that the hard way
But he's proved more than once
He's here for the long run.
A condition he has but one
that she crosses the finish line with him
She laughs as he stands there
having tried his best to creep in
to sneak his way, past the cracks in the wall
and ended up, crushing it, insecurities and all
And she walks into his embrace
in his arms she happily falls
he won her over fair and square
Like she wasn't a task at all.

The Rain Never Forgets

In the wee hours of the morning on that faithful day in November
the clouds break down in tears to honor a soul's surrender
through the darkness and the silence it mourns a memory
one that reads good enough to make a beautifully written obituary
she looks up at the sky, as her gaze follows the first drop that hits the ground
wetting a tiny space there, just like the tear that reaches her frown
November remembers and so does she
November's never been what it's supposed to be
As the rain makes it's annual appearance in a month so odd and strange
She sits lonely in a corner, trying hard, her memories, to arrange
The rain washes away the dirt and the grime,
leaving mother nature's fragrance to wake the slumbered town
She watches the world wake to a normal day
but for her this day in November, will forever hold her down
The rain never forgets, and neither will she.
That faithful, rainy day of November, will always be.

Where Loyalties Lie

He was caught between the two people he adored,
faced by a situation where he required to pick a side
and his mind clouded with thoughts so rapidly,
it felt as though he was running for miles.
To side the person he's known for years
or to stand by the person he's recently found a new friendship in,
he had to question his faith in their friendship
and the future of it too
And for a moment, just a fleeting moment,
he wondered where his loyalties lie
with who, and why
and if he were willing to let a relationship die
and then another thought crossed his mind
wondering if their motives were more than what they seemed
and what shocked him was the conclusion that them innocent, is what he deemed.
Suddenly, the question wasn't about where his loyalties lie.
In all truth,
The question was about why they lie.

Victories Greater than Gold

He was a fighter, a sucker for the sport
he knew when to throw a punch,
and never crossed a line
he played by the rules to win over a heart
But he fell through the ropes at the very start
She was the force that attacked him
A blow to his emotions, he had to admit
face first, he took the hit
sending a rush of adrenaline through his veins
immediately he felt her taking over the reins
he fell hard and kissed the canvas
and changed him she did.
The red gloves were kept away
more important things and family, were here to stay
The only ring that mattered now,
was not the one he used to leisure in
but the one that donned a white lace glove
on the hand of his lady love.
Medals and memories of the days gone by
were kept in his bedside drawer for his children to find
And on a dark mournful evening, when he was on his way Home
the woman insisted she be left alone
she picked up the medal that with time had lost it's sheen
and wished that her tears could wipe it clean
Gold, silver brass were things of the past
their children and grandchildren were victories that would last
A fighter who let go of a hobby to find a life
The medals he had won, comforted his widowed wife.

Hopelessly Devoted

He's hopeless.
Hopelessly devoted.
Spoiled by her impressive ways and that torturous smile.
He's spent an entire week setting this emotional guard up,
raising his defenses around his heart
cause just like every time, he doesn't want to be pushed around by her mysterious ways,
her beauty, and her ability to capture him and play with his emotions with just a word or two
or even a gesture as tiny as slipping her hand through his
These little things break him. He's embarrassed about his lack of strength to despise her
To keep her at bay, or look out for himself.
He doesn't want to throw himself in completely, and give her the reigns to his heart again.
He's seen too well, the things she can do, the leverage she has over a devoted man
She's sexy, and sassy, and a whole lot of a tease
and his weaknesses range to anything from her smile, to her dainty, playful personality
She's dangerous for him, he knows it,
She'll probably kill him if she knew the power she had over him.
She doesn't realize how he tries everyday, to keep a check on his emotions
to hold up that shield that keeps him from falling
Falling in love, falling face first, falling hard
and to her feet, to be whatever she needs him to be.
He's a goner and he knows it.
A part of him wishes she knew, a part wishes otherwise.
And even while he waits for her arrival, after a month of hearing nothing from her,
he's determined to not let her get to him. He wants her to work hard to win his attention
But in the next moment, she's greeting him with a kiss on the cheek,
a hug and a smile so meek,
he's feeling that tug, that magnetic pull of the foolish side of his brain
and that scream from his heart saying "Oh no! not again!"
and she slips her delicate little hand into his strong one
and says "How have you been? I've missed you" in a voice so plain, admirable, exact opposite of disdain
And he knows in that second. He's lost his will,
while that shield around his heart took a back seat
rationality and emotional guards flew out the window
and he couldn't be anything but 'normal' with her
all over again.

A Secret Escape

She's broken and hurting as she falls to her knees
this act of self loathing becoming a daily ritual
her elbows dig into the soft sheets of her bed
as she joins her hands and bows her head
Tears battle their way through closed eyes
and roll shamelessly down an already moist face
she can't remember the last time she fell to this position
She can't recall ever seeking His embrace
tonight is different as she chants out His name
needing a higher force, her emotions to tame
for a woman who gave up on the man who gave her,her second name
she feels like she's the one, for his death, to blame
a cool breeze dances along her skin
threatening to remind her of that night she lost him
but she can't let it take control of her again
she won't let it reach within
So she prays louder, needing for Him to hear
how she wishes to see him just one more time
her love, her dear, how she needs him near.
and for a moment, for just a tiny second
she thinks she feels his hand on her shoulder,
A warm touch, one she knows all too well,
She cherished it,and let it sink in,
she knew it wouldn't dwell.
and it disappeared as soon as it came
The feeling of him, the very same
she sank down to the ground as sleep overtook her body
and thanked Him for ignoring, from heaven, his soul's secret escape.

The 'You' In Me

"I know what you're going through, I know what I see"
"No you don't, You don't know the real me!"
"Oh but I do, I've seen the real you can be"
"why do you have to be like this, why do you keep coming back?"
"because  you never let me leave at all, you catch me even before I pack"
"This isn't a joke, I'm as serious as a heart attack"
"Who's kidding here, the sweat beads on my forehead mimic that of surgeon, I think- cardiac"
"I'm damaged, I hurt, and I bring you nothing but pain"
"I'm here to love you, and not for selfish gains"
"You'll regret it, you'll ache with the baggage I carry"
"You'll be the best decision I ever made."
"and what happens when you tire of me or I of you"
"what happens if you never give me a chance to"
"you're stubborn"
"only for you"
"No one's ever held on this long"
"no one's ever tried, for you, to be strong"
"I'm going to deteriorate eventually, slowly lose myself"
"I'll be with you every step of that torturous way"
"and when i die, what will you have left to say"
"I'll see you soon beautiful, in heaven one day"
"I wish I could promise you, a forever with you to stay"
"All I'm asking for is a promise of tomorrows after today"
"I will hurt you, I can't promise I won't"
"I'm willing to take every punch in the gut, and break of a bone"
"You're too strong for me to hurt physically, silly"
"You're too in love to hurt me beyond repair, emotionally"
"How do you know I will agree?"
"Because, there's a little of 'me' in you, and 'you' in me"

Super-Mom

"Mommy!" she cried in a language of her own
when the sounds outside of a womb were strange and unknown
and the woman she cried for held her with love,
close to her heart, giving thanks above.

"Mommy!" she cried when she awoke at night
to the darkness and stillness that instantly brought fright
and it seems her language was finally understood
cause the woman she wanted, was cradling her as lovingly as she could.

"Mommy!" she cried when her first teeth began to intrude
when the pain was something she didn't want to bear alone
by now the woman knew her every whimper and cry
knew when she was happy and knew every sorrowful moan.

"Mommy!" she exclaimed, as her first coherent word
and the woman in question was the first one who heard.
tears of joy ran down her cheeks
as her lips caressed her precious baby girl

"Mommy!" she cried when the bruise on her knee burnt
suddenly, running behind the pet dog seemed like an idea-absurd
but the pain seemed to disappear as soon as it hit
because mommy covered the band-aid with a kiss

"Mommy!" she squealed when she aced her class test
running into the house, and into her moms embrace
nothing could compare to the happiness in her eyes
nothing could compare to the proud smile on her face

"Mommy!" she said when she fell in love the first time
her heart feeling things she couldn't explain
but only mommy understood and only mommy could see
just how crazy in love her little girl could be.

"Mommy!" she yelled  when she needed her space
when mommy's over protective heart wouldn't let her have her fun
"I'm old enough to make my own decisions" she said
and mommy nodded, smiled sadly, and went to bed.

"Mommy!"she cried when she returned home one night
sobbing and whimpering from the pain of a tattered heart
"he was never worth your time" Mommy said with a kiss on the head
"he never deserved your perfect heart" as she put her to bed..

"Mommy!" she said sweetly when she tied the knot
with a man who her mom had predicted, was worth a shot
"I'll miss you" she said with a parting embrace
while she miserably tried to hide the tears from her face

"Mommy!"she said with joy, over the phone
when she found out she was having a baby of her own
"I hope she's just like you", Mommy said with a laugh
"at least then you'll know what I went through"

"Mommy" she whispered when she held a baby boy in her hands
calling her mommy closer to see
the little bundle of perfection that lay in her arms
was the cutest little infant that could ever be.

"Mommy" she called out one night
when she came home after a fight
holding her two year old close to her
she sought out her mothers advice

"Mommy" she said in a panicked tone one day
"he's down with the flu and I don't know what to do"
and the mother with more years of experience on her
guided her through with the cure for a flu

"Mommy." she said as she greeted her with a hug
It was his 5th birthday, and she gifted the little boy a pug
"you didn't have to" she said to her mom with a smile
"he's my grandson, and I'm afraid I'm only here for a while."

"Mommy!" she cried bitterly as she fell to her knees
on a dark Friday evening that did nothing to please
her tears fell over the tombstone slab
washing over the name of the mother she once had.

Lifeboat

For the words that were left unsaid,
there is a over-used book kept under her bed
there are pages that have the most delicate handwriting
with words of love and affection for her man.
There are pages that have been engraved with the harshness of a pen
words no one would say aloud, but note them down, she can
And the pages that you can see light through
are the ones where her mind and heart had battled and fought,
until she could finally decide what she wanted to keep
and erase the words that dug too deep.
and those pages that have smudges and blotches all over
they tell a story of hurt, or an overwhelmed lover.
She writes with a passion too strong to describe
and a heart that's taken a dangerous dive
The water gets rough and she struggles to stay afloat
but the book under her bed is her escape, her lifeboat.

His

And the most insignificant thing she does
brings life to his imagination
Allowing his hands to fly over alphabets
and words to fill across his screen
She doesn't need to leap buildings or break a world record
Even a smile that she thinks will go unnoticed can do the trick
She won't understand his obsession, and his way with words
She won't understand what he sees in her
he won't tell her either
Let the world read what she means to him
Let the world wish they had his girl
He doesn't need her to be more than she already is
she's beautiful, simple and his.

Freedom*

These four walls they speak to me
They tell me of a freedom that I lost
I gave it away so easily that day
Not knowing how much it would cost

I long to feel free again
Not to be bound by these prison rules
Not to be told what to do and say
Not be treated like a mindless fool

After a decade has passed,
They’re granting me reprieve
A clean shirt on my hardened back
And an identity on my sleeve

Liberty is at my door step
Soon, I’ll be homeward bound
My second chance to live life,
A new freedom I have found.

Masked

He had fallen in love with her beauty,
with the way her eyes shone and the way her cheeks flushed,
He loved when she looked up at him under those dark lashes
and even when she stared at him with a knowing smirk.
Her lips, pink as ever would light up his day.
Until one day.
she left the mask at home.
Everyone saw her differently,
pale they said is what she looked.
little did they know, this was the real her
this was her, without the cover
without a wall to hide behind
and when he came face to face with her
he said he'd seen nothing like it before
she frowned
no beauty like hers before, he amended.
she glowed.
Beauty in it's raw form, beauty that should have never been masked.
And he wished she'd taken off that mask sooner.

Missing A Muse

As long as she exists, so will his words
as long as she stays, there will be thought.
For even in her absence, she manages to manipulate her writer
She boasts of a power that defines him and his career
She is not the subject of his every piece
but she takes credit for his wild imagination.
For when he floats in her aura, she takes over his mind,
and inspires him to suspend everything that's real.
She pushes him into a world that demands his creativity
a world that fills him with words he otherwise can't explain.
She'll take his hand, and draw him in
to a land that opens up his heart.
She is a constant in the change,
her mere existence allowing his imagination to travel across seas and oceans
the blue, red and dead,
none, in all their vastness, can measure up to the amount of figments she's created in his mind.
A foundation that lifts him up,
she holds him down while giving him wings to fly over unseen waters
and territories never ventured on before.
She doesn't move, and she doesn't speak, she doesn't touch and neither steals a peek.
she's oblivious in all her beauty, to the words she has inspired.

To a writer who thrives on her existence,
without her, he's ordinary and negligible in his works.
Without her, he is empty.
A river that once overflowed with inspiration,
now runs eerie and dry.
Somewhere deep down within his heart,
a muse-less writer cries.

The Universe and You

When you get what you want, someone looses what they need
While you sacrifice, someone succumbs to greed
When you give up, someone gives in
and when you loose, someone somewhere surely has to win
when you sing a song, there will be few who won't sing along,
and when you're too weak to stand, the oppressed might grow strong
While you give birth, someone might lose a friend
if you just experienced a beginning, someone just saw the end
when you send out a rhetorical question, someone out there hears you
and the answer that plays in his mind, may be tele-ported back to you
if you just found a confidant, someone out there faced brutal betrayal
while you give life, somebody somewhere kills
when a door opens up for you, it is slammed in some doomed person's face
and when you give up, someone might actually win the same race
While you like the thrills of the outdoors, someone wants to stay in
while you sport the saddest frown, someone just found a reason to grin

The universe has it's way of balancing itself perfectly
it's gives to some, and takes from some
Some are smart and some are dumb
but still the world goes around, and eventually, happiness is always found
whatever conspiracy the universe has in store for you, it'll send it across the earth in your way,
and whatever decisions it influences along it's way will be mere ripples to the actual wave
touching some other life and changing it's course
inspiring people, pushing them forward with force.
we live on a planet, who knows her way around
In fact she's keeping that balance, to keep us on the ground
the next time something is snatched away from your hands
remember, the universe has something else in store for you, a mightier plan.

The Mighty One

I sail alone in the powerful blue
and allow myself to row towards you
and when the tides and wind don't let me win
I'm misled in a direction of sin
and when the storm comes, and the water gets wild
I pray that you protect this child
for every wave I push behind
it is you I'm trying to find
Every wave that hits my boat,
is nothing but an obstacle i need to cross
you've send them my way
cause you know I can stay
afloat and alive, through night and day
the waters are cold, and freeze me to the bone
but knowing you're waiting for me, makes me go on
knowing, when i see you, I won't be alone.
My entire life is a journey towards you,
and everything I do, is for your happiness
and when the sea gets too rough and I need to stay still
I'll let down my anchor, and obey your will
Your my anchor when the ocean threatens to kill
You'll walk the remaining waves towards me, you'll find me, I know you will
Cause from the day you put me here, my entire life has been a journey towards you
and it is only for you I gave my very best
It is only in you, I will find my rest.

A Betrayer Within

I can't imagine what it's like for you
to have your body betray you that way
when it takes on a mind of it's own
and decides to not let you have a say
when a part of you decides to play a game
and begins to act irresponsibly
immediately every other part of you retaliates,
and on the outside you try to keep a straight face
but on the inside, their ruining your hearts pace
slowly but surely, every part of you gets upset
Not with you, but with that naughty little cell
the one that refused to live up to his responsibility
and now he's ruined the entire system
an organization falls to pieces, little by little all because of him
and then as if that weren't enough,
he somehow manages to get everyone on his side, and suddenly
every part of you has made it a mission to destroy you.
and you fight
you fight cause you know, deep down they're a part of you
they have to hear you screaming inside
they have to feel the pain you feel
they'll fix themselves up for you, they'll fix you!
But no. They don't.
you've been betrayed.
what do you do then? do you give up?
You would. had it not been for the parts of you that live outside.
The people who pay a vital role in the functioning of your life
people who warm your heart and make it beat faster
people who can reach out to it, touch it, and caress it
people who make the blood in your veins sing.
They're the ones you fight for now.
Cause when  everything inside you has given up,
they're the ones who'll be strong for you.
they'll act as your lifeline, to keep you going for however long you have
and when the day comes and you have to say goodbye
say a little thank you to the ones that stayed by your side
cause when everything inside you chose to let you go
they held your hand and never let go.
If you know someone who's suffering betrayal from within
give him the love and support he'll need, this battle, to win
Cause when all hope of self-healing is gone
the healing power a friends love can make him strong
and even though he might never be well again
at least he can say, I have a friend.

For Days of Doubt

She's pressured for time.
she thinks it'll never be enough.
she believes beyond doubt that
shes the unchanging diamond in the rough.
She thinks shes stagnant, un-moving and unchanging.
She beats herself up for it, her resolve slowly breaking.
she visualizes what could have been,
and watches what really is now
and really, she wishes she could turn back time
and start all over somehow.
She sits on the last pew,
the one who'd seen her through it all.
but this time it's different. This time, she's pulled down.
on her knees she falls
and in that empty house of the mighty force, she questions her faults
she lets the pain burst out in the form of streams that hug her skin and mourn her dreams.
and as her body shakes with sobs, and chokes that overpower her entire soul
She prays to the one that brought her there and speaks out her wishes and hopes
and after she's spoken her bit, she sits in silence to acknowledge it.
She doesn't see her two guardian angels sitting just a pew away
but that's because they've told her, from her dreams ahead, to never look away
They have her back for ever and a day
she should know by now, they won't let her go astray
Subconsciously, it is those two angels that draw her to this safe place
and their whispers to each other, reach her ears
those voices she had come to term now as very dear.
and when she sits silently, with an excuse to be in prayer
she listens in on the angels there.
they speak of her strength, the one they've seen grow in her since the day she was born
they speak of her beauty, the one that radiates like the rise of the morn
they speak of how little she thinks of herself, when really she's quite a work of art
they speak of how music runs in her veins, it'll never grow apart
they speak of how she constantly thinks she's not getting anywhere
they speak of how she thinks life's unfair.
and in all that she hears from their all too intentionally loud whispers
which she knows were purposely so,
she knows their a sneaky pair, who knows just what they're here to do.
and somewhere between everything she heard them say
she decided that this was just one of those gloomy days
she smiles to herself and to her invisible force she came to talk to
and get's up, walks to the door and through.
The two sneaky angels, extremely proud and glad,
gloat in their ability to give her hope and comfort.
Diamonds in the rough are just going through a phase
passing on from one stage in life to a much better place.
she knows just exactly who those two miracles sitting behind her are
they're the ones who helped her get this far.
and with the assurance that they'll catch her, if ever, she were to fall
she strides out confidently, feeling great, empowered, and tall.
she has her moments when life hits her in the face
but she knows now, she controls her life, she sets her own pace.

Chi

There is a force
within you and around you
It resides in you and surrounds you
it is what grounds you
this little bomb of energy waits patiently to be awakened
a power so strong  yet so easily forsaken
this Chi inside you wants nothing more than consent
for that will be enough for it to branch out and vent
the secret is to look inside and find that inner strength
the one that holds you together through endless lengths
of loss and of grief, this force binds the pieces of you that threaten to break
it holds on so tight, and hugs from within, for your sake
this little chi I imagine to be a younger self,
who hasn't let age and passage of time bring lines upon her face
she's alive and high, and doesn't sit on a shelf
she's moving faster than any of us, keeping her own joyful pace
I wonder sometime's if she ever gets sad
but I guess my Chi was never made for bad
she constantly conspires to bring only the good
if she could protect me from the rest, I have a strong feeling she would
She's a force to be reckoned with
there's nothing that can crush her
she's opinionated and strong willed
Life's a life of only moving uphill
she is the only hope within me, that opens my eyes at dawn
cause she is the one who see's the hope at every new morn
when I have given up, and grown tired on the outside
My chi is what lifts my spirits, forcing me to go on.
we take for granted this little gift of good energy within us
and don't realize what she's worth
She's powerful and influential, and she give's you birth
for every time you die a little, she'll breathe life into your soul
she'll whisper to you, things that remain untold
and that breath of life is what makes you bold
bold enough to leave temporary death behind
and courageous enough to not let it take over your mind
she'll embrace you from within, making you feel secure
and she'll forever be your friend, of that you can be sure
my chi is my driving force when life slows me down
she's the bliss in me, when only boredom is found
With a force so strong with you, you can never go wrong
she'll dance and play within you, turning life's hardest moments into a song.

Ramblings In A Row

Words exceed the capability of our lips
Thoughts fabricate faster than they can be expressed
Something silences a strong opinion or view
Time does not permit, to say what I want to.
Ideas rush in, and leave in a haste
Decisions get too impatient, they've got no time to waste
Hearts feel more then they'll ever embrace
You see more than you'll ever want to face
Hunger makes you ignore taste
Prayer makes you take for granted, god's grace
Advice is too strong to be taken,
even when you know it's enough to awaken
New generations take the place you once had,
it make's you unhappy, but also in a way, glad.
Technology outsmarts the smartest of us
yet love can manage to do the same
Endearments specific to you, are used more than your name
Hearts have learned to withstand storms
and storms have learned to make hearts fail
Instant messaging makes the world smaller by the day
I can't explain how close I am, to a friend so far away
Randomness is turning out to be the most predictable aspect of conversation
and predictable conversations very randomly come up these days.
Silence between notes on music sheets are as important as the sound
and melodious sounds silence the noise within us.
Gravity has a way of keeping us on the ground
but pride make's us fly up to the 9th cloud.

Such little time and so much to say,
So this is all the rambling I can manage for today.

An Escape From Myself

I run
I run when life's walls start closing in on me,
when the pressure in the air around me gets suffocating
I run to reach a place, where sweet life can fill my lungs
I run when Life tell's me, my troubles have just begun
I run when friends build egos, as huge as their fake smiles
I run when my worries go on for miles and miles
I run when emotions get invested enough to reach in and twist my heart
I run when my soul and my body are two worlds apart
I run when my mind can't make it's mind up
I run when life doesn't fill my cup, at least when it's not enough
I run when the weather conspires to ruin my day
I run, but I don't run far away
I run from the pain, the very same pain of which I am ashamed
I run, when aside from me, I have no one to blame
I run in my dreams, when they turn dark
I run in search of light, in hope of touching even a spark.
I run from the daggers being thrown at my name
I run, when I'm sick of the haters' immature game
I run to where my heart will only gain
I run in search of a world with no pain.
I run from stillness and anything that will destroy me
I run to avoid the things that annoy me
I run to seek only what will please
I run, fool, mislead and tease
I run when the sun's rays burn my skin
I run when the demons get stronger within
I run when things too familiar turn strange
I run for fear of my issues with Change.
yet I run when things don't move with time
you can say I'm a confused soul, but expression is no crime.
It is only natural to get tired of stagnation
cause when life decides to halt at a station called Depression
all you want is to flee from life, and find refuge in Repression
Put away in a box that's bigger than it's hiding place
all those things you aren't ready to face.
Be it Change, Death, Addictions or Hate
I run when I want to get away from my Fate.

Our Song

Our love is like a song, you can't forget it

I can honestly sayYou've been on my mind

Since I woke up today
I look at your photograph all the time
These memories come back to life
And I don't mind

Hang on to the reverie

Could you do that for me?
Cause I’m just too sad to
You can have Manhattan
Cause I can’t have you

They say you bought a bunch of land somewhere,

Chose the Rose Garden over Madison Square,
And it took some time, but I understand it now.

I told myself don't get attached,

But in my mind I play it back,
Spinning faster than the plane that took you...

And I've always lived like this

Keeping a comfortable distance.
And up until now I have sworn to myself
That I'm content with loneliness.
Because none of it was ever worth the risk.
Well you are the only exception.

But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

Wherever you goI always know

'Cause you make me smile
Even just for a while

Here's a map and here's a Bible

If you ever lose your way

Stay.

And I'll be loving you for quite some time.
No one else is going to love me, when I get mad, mad, mad.
So I think that it's best if we both stay, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay.

'Cause you'll be in my heart

Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

If i could, then i would

I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
And maybe. I'll work out
A way to make it back some day
Towards you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days

half of my heart's got a real good imagination

half of my heart's got you

You'll be in my heart

No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always

You're my back bone.

You're my cornerstone.
You're my crutch when my legs stop moving.
You're my head start.
You're my rugged heart.
You're the pulse that I've always needed.

Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.No matter what I say or doI'll still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone.

Here in these deep city lights

Girl could get lost tonight
I'm finding every reason to be gone
Nothing here to hold on to
Could i hold you?

Said goodbye, turned around

And you were gone, gone, gone
Faded into the setting sun,
Slipped away
But I won’t cry
Cause I know I’ll never be lonely
For you are the stars to me,
You are the light I followI will see you again, whoa
This is not where it ends
I will carry you with me, oh
'Til I see you again

Ain't about how fast I get there

Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb

Pick a star on the dark horizon

and follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye

If only New York wasn't so far away

I promise the city won't get in our way
When you're scared and alone,
Just know that I'm already home

I’ll carry you home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun'

Even though there may be times

It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me
Loves all of you

And the seventh thing I like the most that you do
You make me love you.

With Friends like Death, Who needs Enemies

I don't mean to boast, but I have a good number of friends.
But among all of them, the strangest I find, is Death.
Death is the kind of friend who sticks with you no matter what
through thick and thin, Death is by your side.
Death is the kind of friend you wish you hadn't met
Because the reason behind you're loneliness is Death.
Death will walk with you wherever you go,
he doesn't need you to talk to him, he just seems to know,
Know exactly when you're at the peak in your life
That's when he chooses to make his move,
that's when he chooses, his power, to prove,
Death is the kind of friend who will stick to you like glue,
But really he is of no help to you.
Death is old and wise, and has been a round for a long while
he probably befriended you, when he saw your big smile.
Death hates when you get close to someone
so much so, that he'll embrace that someone, and let him go.
Death has a habit of ridding you of people you love
Death' brings you woe and sit's by you when you're low.
Death's the kind of friend you hate to have around,
but you have no choice, He moves quickly and without a sound.
Death's the only friend who will stick with you till the end
and when he think's it's time, he'll pull you into his cold embrace
and take you away to another place.
Death will be your enemy friend, sticking by like a mate
and will walk with you to your destined gate.

Make's me wonder and question
with friend's like Death, who needs enemies.

The One That Got Away

He was 11 when he dropped out of school.
She was 13 when she did the same.

He couldn't study. His brain was made for better things.

His heart was smarter than his mind would ever let him be. It's what kept him sane.

She grew up in a big house and a small family.
He grew up with the opposite.
Both never knew the luxuries of life. Both didn't want it either.

He lost his mother when he was too young to understand.

But his many brothers and sisters raised him to be a wonderful man.

She learned to be a woman who could only care..
And never raise her hand or her temper. No. she'd never dare.

He'd learned from an uncle and started a business of his own
She'd taken example from her mother, gentleness and kindness, in her, was sown.

They'd met on the shore one day when the world became too small
And a friend who was a mutual one, had called.

She saw in him, something she couldn't understand.
He saw in her, something that made him wanna be her man.

He was a charmer of sorts and wooed her lots,
But something wasn't right and they parted ways.

Many failed relationships and 10 years later
They met again, with hope this time it'll be better.

And with something that started of 10 years ago,
they created a love whos strength no one would ever know.

Traveling across 4 stations to see eachother every second day,
They'd learned to love, and loved to learn about eachother, and their ways.

Without any doubt this time, they tied the knot
and vowed to be eachothers, forever and a day.

With little children now, natures miracles,
They loved unconditionally and lived in simplicity.
But lifes never been easy for the two of them
And like the former years they lived, came problems, their happiness to condemn.

He gave her everything he could and she loved him the way she should.
But God made it a point to surprise them all the time.
And so he took him away from her, one day, for really, no crime.

She took it hard, a blow to her life, that took with it, all that she had
If there was one thing she lived for now, it was to keep her children glad.

For they were a part of them, something right that they had done,

In a life filled with trouble and darkness, they were her morning sun.

He may have died young, and left her to grow old alone
But soon enough she took courage and never let her spirit get worn.

A wife and a mother who has come along way
She falters and make mistakes, but gets up and tries not to go astray.

She's weak and scared and tempted to let go,
But she'll hide that away, trying hard to be stronger than before.

She's been through the worse, and it's probably just the start
But shes a winner, the strongest at heart.

He's watching over her from wherever he may be
And he's smiling at her, encouragingly.

Time and again, he appears in her dreams, both day and night,
That sweet handsome man, on the shores of a beach, in the evening sunlight.
